Roger Staubach is a Heisman Trophy winner and legendary Hall of Fame former quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys from 1969 until 1979. Staubach was instrumental in developing the Cowboys into becoming one of the best teams of the 1970s and led the team to nine of the Cowboys' record-setting twenty consecutive winning seasons. Staubach led the Cowboys to their first Super Bowl victory and as a result he was named MVP in Super Bowl VI. Staubach was described by legendary Cowboys head coach Tom Landry as "possibly the best combination of a passer, an athlete and a leader to ever play in the NFL."

Tony Dorsett was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys with the second pick of the first round of the 1977 NFL Draft, and played with the Cowboys through the 1987 season. In his rookie year, he rushed for 1,007 yards with 12 touchdowns, and was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Dorsett was the first player to win the college football championship one year, and then win the Super Bowl the next. He holds the NFL record for the longest rushing play of 99 yards. The 4-time Pro Bowler is a member of the Cowboys Ring of Honor. He was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame in 1994.
