Standing at 7 feet 6 inches tall, Yao Ming, one of China’s best-known athletes internationally, was selected 1st overall by the Houston Rockets in the 2002 NBA Draft. The 8-time All-Star was named to the All-NBA team five times, and help lead the Rockets to the NBA playoffs four times. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016, and the Rockets retired his jersey #11 in 2017.
