Tony Dorsett was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys with the second pick of the first round of the 1977 NFL Draft, and played with the Cowboys through the 1987 season. In his rookie year, he rushed for 1,007 yards with 12 touchdowns, and was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Dorsett was the first player to win the college football championship one year, and then win the Super Bowl the next. He holds the NFL record for the longest rushing play of 99 yards.
