Roberto Clemente Autographed Pittsburgh Pirates 5x8 Print Inscribed Best Wishes Framed

Roberto Clemente was a superstar right fielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates for 18 seasons. During his career, he was a 15-time All-Star, 12-time Gold Glove Award winner and 4-time NL batting champion. The 1966 NL MVP was a member of two World Series champion teams, and was named the MVP of the 1971 Series. Known for his humanitarian work, Clemente tragically passed away in 1972 when his plane crashed while on a flight taking emergency relief goods to Nicaragua after a massive earthquake. The National Baseball Hall of Fame immediately changed the rules to allow deceased players to be eligible for entry six months after they had passed. He was posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1973. Major League Baseball established the Roberto Clemente Award in 2002 to honor players that show good sportsmanship and kindness, and carry out great humanitarian efforts.
