Richie Ashburn was a star center fielder for the Philadelphia Phillies from 1948 to 1959. The 6-time All-Star was a 2-time NL batting champion, and led the National League in stolen bases in 1948. His jersey number 1 has been retired by the Phillies, and he was enshrined into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995. Richie passed away in 1997 at the age of 70.
