Gehrig, also known as "The Iron Horse", was a star first baseman and power hitter for the New York Yankees from 1923 to 1939. During his career, the 7-time All-Star was a 2-time AL MVP, won the 1934 Triple Crown, and was a 6-time World Series Champion. He became the first person to have their jersey retired when the Yankees retired his jersey number 4. In 1939, he was enshrined into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Gehrig passed away from ALS, now known as "Lou Gehrig's Disease" in 1941 at the age of 37. This check has been hand signed by Lou Gehrig.
