Kirk Gibson, was a star outfielder for numerous teams during his career, including the Detroit Tigers from 1979 to 1987 and the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1988 to 1990. In 1984, Gibson was named the NL MVP, and helped lead the Tigers to a victory in the World Series. During Game 5, "Mr. Clutch" hit a three-run home run against Goose Gossage to clinch the Series victory for the Tigers. In 1988, Gibson was named the NL MVP, and helped lead the Dodgers to a victory in the World Series. During Game 1, he hit a walk-off home run against Dennis Eckerley to give the Dodgers the 1988 Series Game 1 victory. It is still known as one of the most exciting moments in World Series history.
