Ken Heintzelman Autographed Official National League Baseball

Ken Heintzelman was a pitched for 13 seasons in the Major Leagues, playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1937-1942, 1946-1947) and the Philadelphia Phillies (1947-1952). His 3-season gap was during the prime of his career, but he left to serve in the US Army during World War II. Upon his return to the Pirates, his contract was sold to the Phillies. He was a key member of their pitching staff, and in 1949, helped the Phillies to their first above .500 season since 1932. In 1950, as a member of the Phillies “Whiz Kids”, he pitched Game 3 of the World Series. Heintzelman passed away in 2000 at the age of 84.
