Johnny Sain was a pitcher for the Boston Braves, New York Yankees and Kansas City Athletics between 1942 and 1955, had the distinction of being the first pitcher in the majors to pitch to Jackie Robinson. In 1943, while participating in a benefit game for the Red Cross, Sain also was the last man to pitch against Babe Ruth in organized baseball. Sain was a 3-time All-Star, 6-time World Series champion and 1948 National League wins leader. After retiring, Sain became a coach for several teams. This official National League commemorative Jackie Robinson 50th Anniversary logo baseball was hand signed and inscribed "1st Pitch to Jackie Robinson 4-15-1947" by Johnny Sain. The autograph includes authentication from PSA/DNA.
