Johnny Pesky (b. 1919 - d. 2012) was a major league shortstop and third baseman for the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers and Washington Senators. Pesky was aan All-Star in 1946 with the Red Sox. He continued working for the organization after retiring from playing, and was a manager for the club from 1963-1964 and a color commentator from 1968 to 1974.
