Jack Warhop (dec. 1960) was a turn of the century pitcher for the New York Highlanders and Yankees from 1908 to 1915. He is likely to be best known today for giving up Babe Ruth's very first home run on May 6, 1915. Warhop was a submarine pitcher, which earned him the nickname “Crab”, with a solid Major League career. Although he had a career 3.12 ERA, he was known by many as an unlucky pitcher, posting a 69-92 win-loss record. Baseball Magazine even once called him the “unluckiest pitcher in the American League”. He led the Yankees in saves 3 times, and his 114 career hit batsmen is a team record and ranks 37th on the MLB all-time hit batsmen list. While playing with Bridgeport of the Eastern League in 1927, he pitched and won both games of a double header at the age of 42, a rare achievement. A Warhop single-signed baseball is on the want list of nearly all Yankees fans who collect single-signed baseballs of their players. Offered here is one of those baseballs – a vintage baseball hand signed by Jack Warhop, which includes a PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity.

Note: This item does not include an individually numbered TRISTAR Authentication hologram, only the PSA/DNA authentication.
