George Shuba Autographed Baseball Inscribed 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers WS Champs

This Official ML Baseball was hand signed by George Shuba (b. 1924 - d. 2014), an outfielder for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1948 to 1955. Shuba is often remembered for his symbolic role in breaking down the baseball color barrier. While playing for the AAA Montreal Royals in 1946, Shuba offered a congratulatory handshake to teammate Jackie Robinson. The moment was captured in a well-known photograph (A Handshake for the Century) featuring the first interracial handshake in a professional baseball game.
