Clyde Sukeforth (b. 1901 - d. 2000) was a catcher and later a baseball executive, serving as a scout and manager. Sukeforth played for the Cincinnati Reds and Brooklyn Dodgers between 1926 and 1945 and was a coach for the Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates between 1943 and 1957. He is best known for signing Jackie Robinson to the Dodgers as the first black player in the modern era to play in Major League Baseball. In 1947, Sukefort - in the role of interim manager of the Dodgers after the suspension of Leo Durocher - wrote Robinson's name into the Dodgers' lineup on Opening Day. Sukeforth hand signed and inscribed "Jackie Robinson's 1st Mgr 1947" on this ML baseball. The autograph is guaranteed authentic and includes authentication from PSA/DNA. (TRISTAR authentication not included.)
