Barry Sanders, the 1988 Heisman Trophy Winner, was selected 3rd overall in the 1989 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. The 10-time Pro Bowler began his career winning the 1989 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award. He went on to lead the league in rushing yards for four seasons, was twice named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year, and was the 1997 NFL MVP.
